She's 81; he's 86. They've been married for 60 years.
She has diabetes and kidney failure; he fell, hit his head and got a stroke.
He is bedridden, unable to walk, to sit, to eat or to speak; she takes care of him.
The feeding tube is extremely uncomfortable. He tries to pull it out. She gets mad. "How many times must I tell you not to do that? What will I do if you need to go to the hospital? I don't have the energy to carry you downstairs. I am old too. I am sick too. And I am so tired."
He reaches his hand out for her. She leans over. He puts his arms around her and pulls her towards him. He kisses her. She cries. "I know. I'm sorry. I love you too."
