Spring has come. The temperatures now average at 5 degrees, and the sun stays out til 6. And you could never imagine the pure joy that could bring, until that first day of sun, where you know you just cannot stay home, and you take a walk, stopping first at the Spectrum to buy tickets to Kaiser Chiefs, and then at Dairy Queen for a large Mount Tremblant - past Place des Arts, where hordes of people sit around the steps doing absolutely nothing at all; past Boul St-Laurent, where people are sipping coffee along the sidewalk cafes; down to the old port, where people are cycling and children are playing catch; back up through Place Jacques Cartier, where the buskers have reappeared all at once; and then to Square Phillip, where street vendors are selling fresh sunflowers - forgetting about the ice cream in your hand while you soak in the sun, until all of the sudden you realize that it's started to melt. And for the first time ever, that gooey, dripping mess makes you smile.
