my life in a box

When you're on the last train home, try to get off at the right stop. Otherwise you risk walking a long way home at 1.30am in 3-degree weather and getting ni-hao-ed by random jocks.

(I seem to get ni-hao-ed a lot. I usually just roll my eyes and walk away but there was once I was waiting for someone and the guy refused to stop until I responded so I was like "you know that's not gonna work right?" and he went "why?" "cos you're saying it wrong, duh" - that shut him up alright.)

In happier news, daylight savings just ended or began (I have no idea which), so I gained an hour!

And it's Halloween weekend! I went for a costume party on Thursday night and nearly died. Literally. The queue was so bloody long and people got impatient and just started pushing forward and I was pinned against a wall, squashed by 10,000 people. It was so packed there wasn't even space for me to fall. And Yiwen got separated from Sharad and I but Sharad had her ticket and the stupid door guy wouldn't let Sharad and I wait for her at the door even though there was plenty of space for everyone else to pass through and someone just snatched the ticket saying they'd pass it to her and shoo-ed us up. Well eventually she did get in though and it was pretty interesting seeing everyone all dressed up but I wouldn't do it again. I'm too young to die, thank you very much.

I seem to have bad luck when it comes to Halloween things in general. Went for a Halloween parade today but it rained and was freaking freezing. But braving it was worth the experience I guess, because the performers were all very into it and there were fireworks which were very nicely synchronised with the music.

And I cut my fringe for Halloween. (Gasp! *Insert flashback to December 2004*) I was dressed as Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill, wanted to wear a wig but Sharad and Wern-Jhien forbade me cos it apparently made me look like a transvestite so I decided to be more authentic and cut my hair. You'd kill to see the pictures, wouldn't you?
