This afternoon I finally watched Passion of Christ after wanting to watch it for such a long time but not having anyone to watch it with me. It was a lousy, pirated and lousily-pirated vcd borrowed from a friend but I guess it sort of served its purpose still. The standout scene for me was the nailing to the cross. The close-up shots were really... gut-wrenching. I really couldn't take it. Anyway I know this movie was like 3 yrs ago so I won't do a review here but there are just 2 things that I just can't figure out:
1. What's with all the scenes with the Devil? Esp the one with him carrying some kinda baby?
2. Who's the young disciple? I always thought Jesus had told Peter to take Mary as his mother at the crucifixion but the movie showed the young guy instead. And then I checked the Bible and realised that Jesus had said those words not to Peter per se, but to "the disciple he loved", whom I just assumed to be Peter. So who's this guy?
