my life in a box

So work has been busy but still manageable, and it's really fun sitting in the Liti pupils' room. Problem is that it seems to suck all the energy out of me, so much so that I feel so tempted to just sleep the weekend away. At the same time weekends are so precious now, you feel like you have to do something. But still, sometimes you're just too tired to care.

I did watch Indiana Jones though. And yes, it was absolutely ridiculous, but I enjoyed every minute of it. So. Many. Explosions!

Sex and the City, well, insanely predictable. In fact, it was so predictable I predicted it was going to be predictable. But some of the clothes, wow. Especially loved the green coat Carrie went househunting in at the start of the movie.

I seem to vacillate between boredom and fatigue a lot these days though. Wonder if it's a side effect of work or simply old age.

Did have time to upload some of the Europe photos though. Check out my Facebook. Here's a quick recap.

Milan: Was hosted by 2 of my favourite people there. Had a great time and was seriously spoiled by their doting parents.
Barcelona: I Love Gaudi. Zara is for tall people. Spanish food is damn salty but I love tapas, and Inopia was one of the best meals I've had in my life. I preferred the paella I had in Milan though.
Venice: Damn smelly. And expensive. And touristy. St Mark's square is nice but not enough for me to ever go back again. Zw had lasagne which tasted more like laSocks.
Florence: Lovely city. Could imagine myself living there. Loved Ponte Vecchio. Stayed in the crappiest hostel ever with some Fonze lookalike. David was Wow. A bit confused by the way too many Madonna con Bambinos though.
Greve-in-Chianti: AMAZING. We got on this amazing wine-tasting tour - got driven up the mountain, visited a medieval village, had 5glasses of wine (Ja-Liy got drunk and started hugging random people and telling them she loved them), a lot of bread, olive oil, tomatoes and ham, had yummy homemade espresso, received freshly picked roses, stuffed ourselves til we exploded with Florentine steak and ragout and other assorted grilled meat, before returning back to our pretty little bed & breakfast. Shawn made 3 fantastic meals for us, after receiving valuable lessons from the neighbourhood greengrocer. I was very happy.
Rome: Slightly disappointing, just because it was in such a state of disrepair. It was Rome! I expected everything to be really grand, not covered in shit and gum. The Colosseum was impressive though. And I loved the Vatican. And I saw the Pope. And the hottest Italian guy ever, manning the lift up the dome at St Peter's Basilica.
