my life in a box

I had my first job interview this morning. I was rejected, as I half expected but at least in a very nice and gentle way. In fact, he heaped loads of compliments on me; and he told me he liked me but couldn't employ me because I might just go traipsing off to Uni after 10 months and he'd have to look for and retrain someone else, and shouldn't employ me because it would be a waste for me to be a secretary on a permanent basis. That was exceedingly flattering, to say the least. But it was really funny when he tried to persuade me to study Medicine instead of Law since doctors earn much much more. Well I also became positively giddy when, after I said "I've always wanted to be a lawyer", he replied "You will be a very successful one, I assure you." (Pardon me if this entry sounds too ya-ya but I do feel a little smug now.)
